Join us on the discovery of the north cost of Madeira Island. Between valleys and mountains, come sence the frangance and the colours of the unique tracks that will follow all along the year.
Leaving Funchal we will be heading towards Câmara de Lobos, the most known fishing village in Madeira, due to Winston Churchill’s paintings and its flabbergasting sights, where we will stop for about 20 minutes.
Our tour continues to Ponta do Sol and heads out to Canhas, through the agricultural paths, where you’ll be able to contemplate the banana plantations, the sugar cane, and most vegetables that you will find in the local markets for sale.
Continuing our journey, we will meet another village called Canhas, where from, we will take you to a rare scenery off-road through original tracks until the next village called Calheta, where another stop will follow.
Leaving Calheta behind, we’ll start to drive up to the only existing plateau on the island at the altitude of 1400m known as Paul da Serra. With several stops on the way to enjoy the breathtaking sights of Fanal within the Natural Park, Ribeira da Janela village and the fabulous valleys and mountains nearby.
We’ll drive from Paul da Serra down to Porto Moniz, within the Laurissilva Natural Park which is UNESCO world heritage and simply admire the endemic forest all along the off road track.
Using again the agricultural paths we will reach the viewpoint in the small village Santa, called Miradouro do Redondo, where you’ll delight yourselves with the view of Porto Moniz, very well known by its lava natural swimming pools, and give you the fantastic pleasure to swim
Starting our return to Funchal, our next stop will be in Seixal, where the natural scenery will again change. Due to its location, you will be able to admire astonishing and contrasting views both mountain and ocean at the same time. This last one will present itself with a picturesque dark sandy beach and again fabulous lava swimming pools on the side.
We will be stoping till we reach Funchal, along the coast for photos, should you like to take with you photographic memories of the frequent waterfalls that insist on falling from the high peaks into to sea, like the very well known Bride’s Veil.
